Welcome Home Harley

For anyone who knows me really well.....it is no surprise that I have a soft spot for dogs & cats. I have been raised around dogs my whole life. My dad never cared for cats...so we never had any. At our house....pets are family members...and that's how they are treated. Many of my friends would probably say I go a little overboard when it comes to worrying about our pets....but I don't care....I want to make sure that any dog or cat that comes to live with us knows that they are loved...and that they are family.

Tinkerbell....my cat...is almost 6 now. I adopted her when she was only 2 months old. I had never had a cat before....and I really wanted a puppy. But at the time I was moving to Houston to live by myself and I was in school full time and I worked full time....so there was no way to have a puppy because I would never be there to let it out to use the bathroom. So I went to the vet and adopted a kitten instead. There was this cute little grey kitten there....it had to of been like 6weeks old....and I really wanted it. And then I saw this calico kitten in the back of the cage...and she had a bald spot on her neck. I asked the lady..."Which one has been here the longest?" And she pointed to the calico kitten. I knew immediately why of course....no body wanted her.....she wasn't perfect because she didn't have some hair on her neck. So...I decided right then and there that I was going to take that Calico kitten home and give her a good home. I remember her first night with me like it was yesterday. She cried the whole night....and I really wanted to take her back the next day. haha But of course I wouldn't do that. After a couple of days she adjusted to her new life with me. She became my baby girl....my princess. And believe me...she has NO idea she is a cat. I spoil her rotten. She has a wonderful life....full of people who love her alot. Mike teases me all the time that I love Tinkerbell more than I love him. haha And by the way...that bald spot grew back within a couple of weeks. Turns out that Tiinkerbell has allergies....=).

That all being said....Mike has been wanting a dog. My sister-in-law & best friend Yolie has a yorkie named Hercules. Mike always says he wouldn't mind having a dog like that....he really likes Hercules. Well....this past week I received an email from my cousin saying they had some yorkie puppies for sale. So I called Mike and asked him if he was interested...and of course he was. I was a little hesitant at first...because we already have Tinkerbell...and since Tinkerbell stays at my mom's while we travel...I wasn't sure we could handle another pet. But Mike said the dog would stay with him during the week...so I agreed...and I am soooooo glad I did.

On Thursday I picked up our new baby boy. =) We named him Harley D. Cruz.... after Mike's truck. He'a only 8 weeks old and weights about 2 lbs. ......and believe me...he's the cutest thing you have ever seen! We had such a good time with him this past weekend. And as with Tinkerbell.... he already has NO idea that he is a dog. God has not blessed us with kids yet...and I hope he does soon....but in the mean time...we will enjoy the blessings he has given us. We now have a family of 4. =) Tinkerbell will meet her brother for the first time this coming weekend....and I can't wait to see them together. Tinkerbell is going to look soooo big next to our little man. lol

Here are some pictures of our little ones... =)

Enjoy!

Love,

Where do I begin.....

Wow....it's been awhile huh? Things have been very busy lately....but things have been really good!

Last time I wrote I was talking about my husband calling me and being disappointed about something. Well....as always...things worked out the way they should. God has really blessed our lives.

With Mike being gone all the time we spend ALOT of money on hotels. We have been talking alot lately about getting a 5th wheel or a travel trailer....but of course for one of those you need a truck to pull it! =) So first things first....we started looking around at trucks. Mike has had his car for less than a year...but we decided it was best to trade it in before the Mustang because we are almost done paying it off and it will really help boost my credit....plus we'd like to keep it as a run-a-round vehicle. Well Mike ended up finding his dream truck but it didn't look like we were going to be approved for it and he was really down about it. BUT....things ended up working out and he was able to get the truck he really wanted...and deserves. The truck he ended up getting is a 2006 black Ford F-250 Harley Davidson. It is sooooo nice. Now of course...we really didn't need something this nice to pull a 5th wheel with....but it is what Mike really wanted and like I said he deserves it. He works really hard and I am glad things worked out for him (us). =)

Now...the deal was that Mike could get his dream truck and I could get the 5th wheel that I wanted. We are both very close with our families...therefore I wanted a 5th wheel that had an extra bedroom for when guest come over to stay the night. We looked around and I found the perfect one for us. About 2 weeks after Mike got his truck....I got my 5th wheel! =)

The one we got is a 2006 Cardinal LE. It's considered a 36 ft....but it really is closer to 40ft head to toe. It has everything I wanted...plus more. It has an extra bedroom that can sleep up to 4 people...plus the extra bedroom has it's own half bath and entertainment center for a TV. The 5th wheel has a couch that makes out into a bed, a kitchen table that turns into a bed, a full kitchen, TV & Entertainment Center in the living room area.....with surround sound and a radio/cd/dvd player, and it even has a washer and dryer on board. The mater bedroom has another bathroom with a shower and a king size bed...and it too has a place for a TV. Total....the RV can sleep about 10 people....it has two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths! It's perfect.

Now.....did we have to have such a nice, new 5th wheel to live in....no.....but God has been good to us. I can't begin to tell you how much it feels like "home" to us. We were spending sooooo much money a month on hotels....and it was very hard living like that. Now I can actually cook for us. And to make things even better...we are spending the same amount a month...and now we will be paying something off to own. Living apart half the week can be hard....and it's been a long time since we felt that we had a "home" ...... but things have changed since we got the RV. We do have a home now....it may not be your "traditional" home.....but that doesn't matter to us.... home is where you make it. =)

What next?! Lol....

Well....a couple of weeks ago I got to see one of my "girls" from College Station get married. Now when I say one of my girls....what I mean is....When I was working at Systek .....YUCK.....I was the office manager and I was in charge of hiring all the office staff. I ended up hiring some very special ladies while I worked there....they weren't only my employees...they were my friends. So when I say one of my "girls" ..... I am either referring to Sarah, Melody, Tory, or Danielle. And in this case...I am referring to Tory. =)

Tory & Chris were united in marriage on June 10th. It was such a beautiful wedding. And I have to agree with Melody....Tory was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. Her dress was gorgeous....and perfect for her.

I really enjoyed getting to see Tory, Melody, and Sarah again. Danielle was unable to make it and I really missed her! Before the wedding Melody went out to eat with Mike and I. We have such a good time with her and as always the conversations flow. Mel....thanks for hanging out with Mike and I before hand....we had a great time!

Here are some pictures from that night.....Congratulations Tory & Chris.... may God bless your marriage and your lives together!
